...network established initiatives and organisations for the purpose of creating a comprehensive international source of information (internet platform).

...further the dialogue between professional musicians and the general public, with a view to heightening public awareness of the cello tradition and of new developments in the cello world and to increasing the popularity of the cello.

...support and encourage the next generation of cellists and to provide the vehicles allowing distinguished cellists and promising young talents to meet.

...encourage new composition for the cello and the performance of new or little known cello literature to make it better known.

...promote and further the realisation of a regularly held World Cello Summit meeting, which will take place on a rotating basis in different countries organised and run by local organisations.

...setting up and maintaining an internet platform
(What is envisaged is a cooperative venture involving established institutions.)

The internet platform shall comprise the following features:
- Cellist database: historical personalities, living artists, young generation.
- Key dates for cellists throughout the world (festivals, competitions, masterclasses, concerts, concert tours, congresses, instrument fairs, etc.).
- Information about the activities of international cello institutions.
- A permanent source of information, i.e. enabling the "world of the cello" to be researched and archived and to be generally accessible on the internet.
- Database of cello literature and composers, availability of scores.
- Data on foundations, associations, and sponsorship opportunities for cellists.
